Core Gas Aggregation Service Agreement

We will continue to provide the same high-quality transportation services for natural gas purchased by aggregators. Participating customers pay taxes on the aggregator`s natural gas raw materials and SoCalGas transportation costs. In the 1990s, California passed a law as part of a broader movement to deregulate the energy industry, allowing industrial customers to source natural gas directly from suppliers on the open market, not just from suppliers such as GMP-E. In 2013, California extended this privilege to residential customers, which the law calls “basic customers.” PG-E explains the concept and service on its website; see pge.com/gaschoice. As part of the core gas aggregation service, PG-E customers have the right to enter into an agreement with a third-party supplier to purchase natural gas directly from their homes. PG-E continues to supply you with natural gas and continues to charge you for delivery, while the third-party supplier charges you for the natural gas itself at wholesale prices. To join the CAT program, customers must first choose a GSP. After the customer and the GSP have agreed on the price of gas, the GSP will forward a direct gas access service (DASR) request to SDG-E. CAT customers may or may not realize cost savings based on the contractual terms negotiated between the customer and the CTA relative to SoCalGas` basic retail rates.

Private customers have 30 days after receiving their first invoice from their provider to cancel their CAT enrollment. Contact your service provider or SDG-E to request the termination of third-party gas services. The agreement with your CTA should decree all cancellation procedures and conditions. Any differences of opinion should then be drawn up between you and your CTA. First, clients commit to participating in the CAT program for one year. After the first year, customers can switch CTA or return to SoCalGas` supply services. When your CTA leaves customer service, return to SoCalGas` purchasing service. You are still responsible for paying SoCalGas transportation bills, regardless of payment agreements between you and your CTA.
